What's MEGA?
MEGA is a program for analyzing molecular data such as nucleotide or amino acid sequences from the standpoint of evolutionary genetics on DOS (released in 1993). MEGA estimates evolutionary distances between sequences, reconstructs and tests phylogeny by various methods, and more (for details). MEGA runs in the DOS environment, including in a DOS window of Windows. Copyrighted by Sudhir Kumar, Koichiro Tamura and Masatoshi Nei (1993).

1. Download the file MEGA_man.zip and save it to a directory of your choice on the hard disk.

2. After your download is complete, locate the zip file on your hard disk and double click on it.

3. If you are using WinZip®, click on the Extract button and select the folder to which you want to extract the files to. Ensure that the option "All Files" is selected and then click the "Extract" button.

4. Locate the Contents.html file in the folder to which you extracted the files and double click on it to open the help manual.
